COOPERATION PROTOCOL SIGNED BETWEEN GSO AND IMMIGRATION AUTHORITY PROVINCIAL DIRECTORATE
Fatih Ayna, Gaziantep Immigration Authority Provincial Director, Arife Altin, Integration and Communication Group President, and Abdullah Yilmaz, International Protection Working Group President visited Gaziantep Chamber of Industry and get together with Adnan Unverdi, Chairman of the Board. At the meeting held within the scope of the visit, the opportunities provided by GSO-MEM for Syrians under temporary protection and other foreign nationals and the steps to be taken in cooperation in the forthcoming days have been evaluated.
UNVERDI: WE PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL ACQUSITION FOR BOTH TURKISH AND FOREIGN NATIONALS
Explicating at the protocol signing ceremony held after the meeting, Adnan Unverdi, GSO Chairman of the Board, stated that with the trainings and activities carried out at GSO-MEM, both Turkish and foreign nationals have been provided with professions. Stating that many foreign trainees benefiting from the opportunities offered by GSO-MEM have established businesses or are employed in companies, Unverdi said, “We meet the qualified personnel needs of Gaziantep and the regional industry through our center. We want to continue these works together and within the framework of common mind. At this point, the protocols we signed with the institutions and non-governmental organizations are of great importance. In this context, I would like to thank the Immigration Authority Provincial Directorate and their administrators who signed a cooperation protocol with us in order to support the activities carried out at GSO-MEM and to engage in joint activities, and I wish our protocol to be beneficial to our city and country.”
AYNA: GSO-MEM IS ONE OF THE BEST EXAMPLES IN TURKEY ON OCCUPATIONAL ACQUISITION
Noting that GSO-MEM is one of the best examples in Turkey, Gaziantep Immigration Authority Provincial Director, Fatih Ayna also said that the center trains personnel according to the needs of Gaziantep and the region. Pointing out that 22% of Gaziantep’s population consists of foreign nationals, Ayna said, “We are keeping tabs on the activities of GSO-MEM in relation to adaptation and occupational acquisition of Syrians under temporary protection and other foreign nationals living in our city. We, as the Provincial Immigration Authority, signed a cooperation protocol in order to contribute to the efforts of GSO-MEM. Within the scope of the protocol, we will take steps to facilitate the registration of foreign nationals to GSO-MEM courses. We will be present together with our experts during the trainings to be given to them, and, we will raise the awareness of the trainees about what they should pay attention to during registration and other official transactions. I would like to thank Dear Mr. Adnan Unverdi, GSO Chairman of the GSO Board, and everyone who has contributed for their cooperation, interest and relevance with our Provincial Immigration Directorate, and I wish the protocol we signed will be beneficial ”.
